Using the Program as a guide, a preliminary or Schematic Design is created. It presents the project in a series of loose, sketch forms to show how the relationships identified in the Program can be brought together as a physical entity. One or more plans / models / renderings may be created to express the design thoughts and concepts of the project. It is used as a basis of discovery, review and agreement between the Architect and the Client for the project. Once completed, the project moves on to the next phase: Design Development.
